Philippine Election and The Rise of Digital & Screen Printing

Election in the Philippines is very festive yet competitive. You’re bound to literally see hundreds to thousands of stickers and decals plastered around your city, on cars, street signs, billboards, doors, shirts, caps, mugs, button pins, etc. People love expressing their thoughts and beliefs about various candidates, which make custom stickers, t-shirts, tarpaulin, banners, caps and a lot more as the perfect promotional tool in the Philippines today. Throw in low costs, easy and quick production and the choice is obvious.

Tees and Prints Enterprise offers a quality yet low cost profitable business packages for you to invest on and earn extra this coming Philippine National Elections. Most of the candidates are willing to invest to promote their platform and ideologies through promotional items. While they are busy in tours and campaigns, much of our local politicians don't have time to be involved in the production and their printing requirements surge. In dealing with politicians or any individual who wanted to be elected is for us ( Printers ) to provide them the cheapest, fastest and quality printing that can be available in the Philippines.

Tees and Prints will equip you with the knowledge of what is behind the multi million peso deals involved in every election.

There are thousands of processes that is involved in digital printing or screen printing. There are thousands of types of inks, papers, canvass, cloth, machines and techniques that  is available to choose from. We will try to narrow it down to what  is available and is easy to use without investing millions of pesos.

The 2nd most widely used process is the Heat Transfer Paper Process. You can use 3G Dark Heat Transfer Paper or JetPro SofStretch Light Transfer Paper. The 3G dark transfer paper can be use for both white and colored shirts while the Jetpro SS can be applied on white or light colored shirts only. Price for the dark transfer paper is P23/each for an A4 size and P14/each for the light transfer paper as of October 28, 2015. Best about the dark transfer paper application is that you can print and apply this on almost any type of flat fabric. It only requires atleast 3 process:  Print - Press - Peel. Investment would range from P9000 - P35000. To attain the best output it is best that you invest on a heat press machine that has center pressure adjustment, equal heat and temp as well as lifetime warranty on heating element. Most heat press machines that range from P6,000.00 - P7,000.00 won't last unlike brands like Stahls, Stahls Hotronix, MaxArmour offers a 3 year heating element warranty or lifetime warranty.

In a Heat Transfer Paper Process all you need is a Special Paper called 3G Opaque and Jetpro SofStretch. It is required to use a Pigment Ink as well as a compatible printer for printing. You can also cut your designs using a cutter plotter like a Redsail Cutter or a Silhouette Cameo. We have several cutter and plotters that is available. You can check out our link for our Cutters. You can also check our How To's on Heat Transfer Printing HERE.

You can also try the Sublimation Process. Sublimation process can be used only on 100% polyester shirts or atleast 70% polyester content for best results. You can use sublimation inks on printable white coffee mugs, polyester based caps or visors, mouse pads, socks, aprons and a lot more. Price per piece is only P2.00/each for the paper. The brand used for this is Hansol for both ink and paper. It has the highest transfer rate available in the market and is made in Korea and is recommended by professional printers world wide. Unlike other process, Sublimation Process can print high resolution / high details on t-shirts. It can print almost any color that a regular printer can do. The only weakness we see in sublimation printing is that you can not print on black or dark colored shirts as regular desktop printers like epson and canon dont have white ink for base.  You can check out this link for more info about Sublimation Process : Hansol Sublimation Ink

Investment : P15,000.00 - P35-000.00 ( Up to A3 Print Size )

Epson A3 Size Printer : P20,000.00 - P25,000.00 A3 size
Stahls Heat Press Machine               - P35,000.00 16x20 size

                     P450,000.00 - P1.5M ( Full Size Jerseys  and T-shirts )
Mimaki Sublimation Printer 5Ft : P1.3M
Large Format Press : P220,000.00 -  P350,000.00

In Sublimation Printing, ink is transferred directly unto the garment. It is a chemical process called Sublimation. Just like a tattoo, it is permanently imprinted on the substrate. It wont fade and can be removed by wear and tear. It is vital to have a heat press machine that has equal heat and pressure. This is a vital investment. Using an ordinary press wont do anything good in any of your production for mass production and for long term

Screen Printing or Silkscreen Printing is the most widely used process for mass production since promotional items started. It is the cheapest and fastest way to produce a campaign or promotional shirt. Production costs would range from P2.00 - P15.00 for each design. Price vary from numbers of colors used / frames used and details of the designs as well. Most screen printers use the Line Table set up. Line Table is a cost efficient set up for starters and even for advanced screen printers. This is best if you have a huge production area and labor force. If you are to pay huge amount for rental and labor then line table is not for you.

The fastest way to produce a screen printed shirt is by using a Rotary. A rotary is an effective and efficient  way to save space, labor and time. You can simultaneously print on a shirt by just rotating its base and head. You can use the CMYK process easily with just a max of 2 people operating it. Its best partner is a flash dryer to cure the ink as fast as possible that you can proceed to your next shirt in less than 10 secs. With thorough study and interviews with local and internationl printers, if given a chance and enough money they would invest on a Rotary Screen Printer. You can save a lot of  your precious time, cost on labor, rental and electricity. You can screen print 200 pcs of shirt in less than 2 hours.

Pros : Fast Production. Quality Out Put. Low Cost on Man Power and Electricity.
Cons: Expensive as Initial Investment

However, line table is still the most preferred set up for screen printing as setting it up is easy and wont cost half when purchasing a Rotary Screen Printing Machine.

Price:
6x6 Precision Rotary : P55,000.00
8x8 Precision Rotary : P90,000.00

Flash Dryer                : P38,000.00 Double Fan / 3600 Watts
Flash Dryer                : P28,000.00 No Fan 2800 Watts

We have free demo and training that is available. We also provide free hands on training for basic screen printing process.  You can follow this link for more details: Rotary Screen Printing Philippines
